Soccer Fanatic – Soccer is His Life
A soccer fanatic is a fan who is borderline obsessed with the sport of soccer. This individual eats, and bleeds the game. When his team wins, he is in euphoria that people have a difficult time bringing him back from. When his team loses he goes in the opposite direction. It’s not euphoria but anger that takes over his body and he or she can become violent and destructive. But before getting ahead of ourselves, let’s see why a soccer fanatic is labeled as knowing nothing else.

Well for starters, nothing in his life is more important than the sport of soccer. His career, his other hobbies and even his friends pale in comparison to soccer. For some, even family takes a back seat in the area of importance, especially if an important game is on the horizon. There are stories of soccer fanatics leaving their spouse at the hospital to give birth, as he needs to attend an important match.

Some would say that soccer has become like a religion for the soccer fanatic. It is a god that he worships. And don’t get the wrong impression here. Even though I have been addressing these fans in the masculine, there are plenty of women fans that fit a similar profile.

The home of these individuals will tell you a lot about their passion. The walls are filled with posters of their favorite teams and players. Some even have players competing, artistically plastered across entire walls and rooms in the home. The furniture often has soccer like features to remind the guest that “this is a soccer house.” There is nothing like sitting at the table for dinner and being handed the salt and pepper, which are obviously containers decorated as soccer balls.

The closet almost exclusively contains the colors of the soccer fanatic’s favorite team. The home and away jerseys and the different styles, dating back years. Not to mention the autographed jerseys which are never worn, they are only present for visual stimulation.

One would think that such a lifestyle would tire out our soccer fanatic. After all he does not have an offseason. But no, he is very resilient. Year after year he moves on, showing the world his passion. And as the years progress, even though our fanatic ages and he may be less decorated in his attitude, he finds new and creative ways to show the world that he is still the world’s number one soccer fanatic.
